Overview:
The unit I will be doing will be for a high school physical science class. I will be modifying this lesson for a team based class, which is a class that needs more supports at Westerly High School.This unit plan will be about the formation of the earth's surface. It will include lessons about minerals and the rock cycle which will connect with weathering to the water cycle. We will discuss what the water cycle is and where the different types of water are found (fresh and saltwater). Knowing about water will connect with the Earth’s surface through the topics of weathering, erosion and Glaciers. Other topics including wind, mass movement and the movement of the ocean will further the understanding of how the Earth’s surface has formed.
Rational:
This is the information that will be being covered in the spring portion of my cooperating teacher’s physical science class. A reason that the Earth’s surface is relevant to the students is so that they can understand how the environment around them was formed.
